Dear church family,

On Sunday we heard about vocations and had an opportunity to explore some of the different ministries we run in the parish, at our ministry fair.

ROCKING FOR REFUGEES

Herne Hill Welcomes Refugees, has just received notice from the Home Office that their application to host a second refugee family has been approved.  They are now preparing the house to welcome a refugee family in the next months. The group has been running since 2017 with a small team of about 20 volunteers and always keen to have more people join them at this busy time.

They are running a fundraising live music event on Saturday, 16 October, 7.30pm, as part of the Herne Hill Music Festival, called “Rocking for Refugees”

Local band, Talking Strawberries will be performing to help generate enough money to support refugee families coming to the area. They’ll be playing a mix of funk, soul, rock and blues. They’ll be supported by Blue Spike, a fresh new band, pumping out soulful indie rock, punk and blues, with members from all corners of Europe.
