Parish Courses 2026
We plan to run a range of courses this year in the parish and will update this page over time.

The Bereavement Journey Course – Tuesdays, 7pm, St Paul’s Herne Hill.
The Bereavement Journey is 7 Sessions of films and discussion for anyone who has been bereaved at any time and in any way.
Our next course will run on Tuesday evenings at St Paul’s Church, Herne Hill, from 7 to 9pm, on 27th January, 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th February and 3rd and 10th March 2026. The course is free.
The Bereavement Journey® is an award-winning* series of films and discussion that gently guides adults bereaved at any time, through the varied ways grief and bereavement can impact, enabling them to process the implications for themselves and discern next steps.

The Bible Society Romans Course, Wednesdays 7.30pm, St Paul’s Herne Hill.
The Romans Course is a ten week journey through Paul’s letter to the Romans which will help you discover your part in God’s story. Each session includes a video (which we will watch together) and then discussion groups Please contact Ben Hughes for more information or visit the Romans Course Page.

Lectio 365 Lent Course, Sundays over lent at 5pm at St Paul’s Herne Hill
From the 22nd February we will be running the Lectio 355 at our evening service “The Five”. All our welcome even if you don’t usually come to “The Five”. We will also be sharing the resources with small group leaders for those who wish to run the course in their midweek small groups.
Future courses
We also plan to run the Alpha Course and The Bible Course again later this year. Over a 2 year cycle we also hope to run parenting courses, marriage courses and marriage preparation courses.

Join us for our next diocesan racial justice gathering – 7th February, Southwark Cathedral
On Saturday 7 February 2026, Southwark Cathedral will host a gathering entitled Truth-Telling in Sacred Spaces to mark Racial Justice weekend (6-7 Feb). This event is for everyone in our diocese who believes the Church must be a place of truth, welcome, and belonging. Whether you are someone of Global Majority Heritage, an ally, a parish priest, a lay leader, a member of a congregation, or simply someone seeking to understand how faith responds to history — this gathering is for you!
